'Wivenhoe Clouds'
Gouache on Archival Paper
297 x 210mm
Unframed
There is a park on the southern end of Lake Wivenhoe, right by the dam wall, where the views of the sky reflected in the lake are always changing, always beautiful, and always different. I was there one spring morning, and caught the clouds overhead reflecting in the iridescent blue, ruffled water. The gums stand sentinel along the edge of the lake at this beautiful spot, and frame the view no matter which direction you look. The velvety feel of gouache captures the soft ‘skin’ of the gum trees.
This image is one of a series of 15 gouache works of the Somerset Region ('The Somerset Series') and is also reproduced as a limited edition (1/100) fine art giclée print, available from the 'Fine Art Print' section. If you would like to purchase this work framed (extra cost), please contact me.
