'Tuesday Morning Monto'

On a recent trip to Monto in the North Burnett of rural Queensland I spotted this gorgeous old shop with really interesting architecture, and painted in the terrific combination of that supposedly 'wrong' combo of blue and green. The mirrored reflections in the window were also an enticing challenge, since you could also see what was inside the window at the same time...a spot of fun!
 
 
Gouache is a lovely medium for painting with - it's buttery texture and willingness to blend make it a fabulous choice for such images, which require a bit of blending to achieve the result.
