'October Evening'

It's lovely to work on a big scale, but it can be just as good to work on a small one!
This image shows the sky from my window on an October early evening, as a mid Spring storm moves eastwards out to sea. The jacaranda is in gathering flower, with the full purple explosion still a few weeks away. These small paintings serve as studies for my larger narrative works.
