'Minnie's Pink Teapot'
Prismacolor on Archival Paper

UNFRAMED
The pink teapot in this image belonged to my maternal grandmother, Minnie (Nana). She also had some green cups at one time, and when I came across these similar teacups in a junk shop, I bought them and took them home, dumping them on the table next to the teapot. It was then that I realised the beautiful complementary colour scheme that the image presented, with the blood red tablecloth and green cups, against the dark backdrop of the black blind. I love that the overpowering red of the table cloth is gently tamed by the sedate ballet pink and gold of the teapot, and the complementary green of the cups. Somehow the image seemed so very fitting of my Nana!
I love working with Prismacolor - they offer the ability to capture fine details without losing a painterly feel.
