Work History
​
1982-1984
Outside School Hours Care Art Teacher, Newmarket State School. During this time, I
created several commissioned pieces for family and friends, which convinced me that I
could become a professional artist.
1985-1990
Herron Studios, Pullenvale
Working with then partner (framer) specialising in attending art fairs, markets and
events, and producing house portraits featuring Brisbane’s many iconic heritage homes
and other works, as well as the major work of producing the hand lettered and
illustrated Squirrel’s Cook Book III (1989), and extensive art projects for city hotel
renovations during and after World Expo ’88.
1988 - 1992
Pullenvale Environmental Education Centre
Illustration of course materials and books; presenting the drawing-based component of
a course at the intersection of art, environment and local history for primary school
students.
1992
Artist, Out of The Box Festival
Working with children across six primary schools to create giant puppets for the
inaugural Out Of The Box Festival parade.
1992 - 1993

The Local Bulletin Community News Magazine - Graphic Artist and Copy Editor
The Local Bulletin is an independent monthly publication of 40-64pages, based in the
Western Suburbs of Brisbane. The role I hold entails a thorough understanding of
Adobe Indesign and Photoshop — skills I regularly incorporate into my art practice in a preparatory manner prior to painting — and has allowed me to develop time
management skills in a creative setting, through the need to work with deadlines.
This work is ongoing.

Diagram rendering. Commissions undertaken and works sold during this time.
